The innovative Gullwing chest zip system is the standout feature, creating a huge opening that makes entry and exit remarkably simple. We have been seeing more and more wetsuits adopt this entry system, with World tour surfers showcasing this style in free surfs and heats. Developed by Billabong's Takahiro Noguchi, the Gullwing system has been refined over more than a decade and is designed to provide an easier entry without sacrificing the secure, streamlined feel of a chest-zip wetsuit.
At the heart of the Furnace Ultra is OCENA+ natural rubber, an advanced neoprene-free foam that is 10% lighter and offers 15% more stretch than standard OCENA. Engineered to deliver exceptional warmth, flexibility and durability, it provides the foundation for a high-performance wetsuit built to handle demanding conditions season after season. Inside, Graphene Ultra and Graphene Pro thermal linings work together to maximise heat retention without compromising flexibility. Graphene Ultra is Billabong's warmest thermal jersey to date, with independent laboratory testing showing a 26.6% increase in thermal retention and 20% longer heat retention.
The Furnace Ultra also features new Upcycler Airlite 4D through the upper body, an incredibly flexible 4-way stretch jersey made from 100% post-consumer recycled textiles. Combined with the lightweight and durable Airlite II exterior, the suit moves naturally with your body while providing the durability needed for regular surf sessions.
To finish, fully welded, stitchless seams provide a strong, watertight seal while eliminating needle holes through the neoprene. This construction also helps create Billabong's most flexible seam to date, keeping the suit feeling unrestricted when you're paddling, popping up and surfing.
