Gifts for Stand Up Paddle Boarders

There’s no doubt about it, stand-up paddle boarding has taken the world by storm in recent years. Now a mainstream recreational activity, it’s been a massive contributor to the growth of the water sports industry as a whole, and now more often than not you see just as many SUP’rs dominating the line-up as surfers.

If it’s time to buy a present for someone who’s serious about SUP, or even just getting into it, you may be wondering how you can show them you listen (at least half the time) as they waffle on about their spectacular paddling adventures. If so, read on – we’ve just got the things…

Clothing/Accessories

As you may or may not know, there are a million and one different accessories that come with any water sport. Seriously. Anything you can think of, it’s been made. Flip Flops that double up as a bottle opener? They exist. And they’re awesome.

Prolimit Womens SUP 2mm Neoprene Trousers (£29.95)

Prolimit SUP Jacket (£29.95)

Paddles

If you want to buy a keen SUP'r a gift this Christmas that won’t break the bank (as much as a board anyway), a paddle is a great way to go. You can never have too many paddles. It’s the easiest change to your kit that will make the biggest difference to your performance.

Don’t let the fact that they’ve already got one (I mean, how else would they be paddling?!) put you off. Spare paddles are useful as backups, especially if you’re SUPing in a group, or introducing someone to the sport. Old paddles can be used by the kids or anyone else heading out on the water with you, and I’m sure you won’t mind a little whack against the board every now and then if you’ve got a separate one for yourself. Kids can be pretty reckless…

Our top paddle picks for adults:

Fanatic Pure Adjustable 3-Piece Carbon Composite Paddle (£74.95)

Naish Sport Alu Vario 3-Piece SDS Paddle (£84.95)

Red Paddle Co Carbon/Nylon Travel 3-Piece SUP Paddle (£147.95)

For kids:

Red Paddle Co Kiddy Junior Alloy Vario Adjustable 3-Piece Paddle (£58.95)

Red Paddle Co Kiddy Junior Alloy Vario Adjustable Paddle (£59)

Boards

I mean, only if you’re feeling really generous…

Obviously, a board is a massive investment, but you can get some great deals on really good ones, and we offer 12 months interest-free credit if you spend over £400. Just be sure to research what type of board you’re after first. It’s a complex thing, this board malarkey.

We have a few blogs which should help out though.

Our top picks for beginners:

For children (or small people) – Jobe Lika Inflatable SUP board 9’4 x 30” (£359.95)

For first timers – Gul Cross 10’7 Inflatable SUP board (£399.95)

For the whole family – Jobe Aero Yarra Inflatable SUP board 10’6 x 32” (£594.95)

Remember, all of our inflatable SUP boards include a paddle, backpack, pump and leash. So whilst it is a big investment, you don’t need to worry about all the added extras that you’ll need. Except clothes. Please bring your own clothes.
