At Wetsuit Outlet, we’ve always believed in the power of water—not just for sport, but for wellbeing. That’s why we’re proud to announce our new collaboration with Open Minds Active, a community-focused charity championing inclusive access to blue spaces.
Who Are Open Minds Active?
Based in and around Bristol, Open Minds Active CIC is a social impact organisation with a clear and powerful mission: to improve mental health and wellbeing through connection with water, nature, and each other.
Their work focuses on breaking down barriers to outdoor access for people who might otherwise be excluded—whether due to health conditions, disability, low confidence, or lack of transport. Programmes include:

Wild swimming for wellbeing (via social prescribing)

Learn-to-swim courses for global majority women

Summer surfing and outdoor activity days
All designed to foster inclusion, confidence, and community.
Why This Collaboration Matters
Open Minds Active shares our passion for the water—but more importantly, they share our belief that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy it.
For many, the idea of cold water swimming or surfing is out of reach. But with the right support—whether that’s gear, transport, or simply encouragement—lives can change. This partnership allows us to contribute to their mission in a practical way, and help more people feel the benefits of blue space.
